Joseph Boateng

Chief Investment Officer, Casey Family Programs

Joseph Boateng is an experienced investment executive with a deep commitment to sustainable philanthropy and social impact. He joined Casey Family Programs in 2007 as the organisation’s first Chief Investment Officer, where he leads the foundation’s global investment strategy and advises the board on stewardship of its multi-billion-dollar portfolio to support children, families, and communities across the United States.

Before joining Casey, Joseph was a senior member of the Johnson & Johnson Investment Committee, where he helped manage more than $17 billion in global employee benefit plan assets. His career has spanned institutional investment management, risk oversight, and values-aligned investing across a range of asset classes.

Joseph holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation and is also a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and Personal Financial Specialist (PFS). He received his MBA from the University of California, Los Angeles, and has also completed executive education at the University of Oxford’s Saïd Business School.

He brings to the Freedom Fund a strategic perspective on resource mobilisation and financial stewardship, with a focus on unlocking capital to support impactful, community-driven change.

Originally from Ghana, Joseph is based in the United States.
