National Federation of Human Trafficking Survivors is Nepal’s first survivor-led federation, formally established in 2024 after more than a decade of advocacy and two years of collective negotiation. It unites trafficking survivors from diverse backgrounds, including survivors of sexual and labor exploitation, forced domestic servitude, organ trafficking, women migrant workers, sex workers, LGBTIQA+ individuals, and survivors living with HIV.
The Federation’s mission is to strengthen survivor leadership and collective power to advocate for rights, justice, and social inclusion. Its key objectives include implementing targeted interventions for highly vulnerable groups, raising awareness, and conducting research and documentation to inform evidence-based advocacy. It also collaborates with government, civil society, and development partners to strengthen the capacity of survivors and survivor-led member organizations to deliver services, and to build strong institutional systems for meaningful survivor representation and participation in decision-making.
