African Youth Alliance Development Organisation (AYADO) is a youth-led, interfaith, indigenous NGO registered in Uganda since 2006. It supports rural vulnerable youth through sustainable development interventions and respect of their rights.
In Karamoja, its program invests in climate-resilient food production, beekeeping and poultry rearing by adolescent and women survivors of child marriage and trafficking. It enables participants, especially survivors, to develop sustainable income through vocational training, start-up small business kits, as well as through training and supporting Village Savings and Loan Associations (VSLAs). These VSLAs become intentional spaces for dialogue and action on changing gender norms and strengthening child protection.
