Egna Legna Kesidet Temelashoch is a community-based group that advocates for the domestic rights of EthiopiAan migrant women. It was legally registered as a non-profit local charity association of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia on August 5, 2021. Egna Legna Kesidet Temelashoch seeks to improve Ethiopians’ access to fair domestic work and safer migration to ensure dignified lives, as well as to provide psychosocial, economic, and technical assistance to returnees to facilitate their full integration and fruitful contributions to personal, institutional, and societal development.

Egna Legna Kesidet Temelashoch works aggressively to provide holistic answers to the issues that returnee migrant domestic workers confront daily through vocational training and reintegration programs. Egna Legna also seek to protect the rights of returnee migrant domestic workers as women, survivors, and contributing members of society. We envisage an inclusive society free of abuse and exploitation, in which migrant domestic workers’ agency and rights are fully valued, fulfilled, and preserved. In addition, the organization focuses on advocating, increasing awareness about the oppressive Kafal system, and assisting returnees with vocational training.
