Grassroots Alliance for Rural Development (GARD) is an independent not-for profit organization established in 2019 and registered with the Uganda NGO Bureau. It contributes to changing lives by creating opportunities to reduce poverty and inequalities through local capacity development and building community resilience for sustainability.
In Karamoja, GARD provides access to irrigation, builds practical skills for climate-smart agricultural production—including through farmer field schools—and supports Village Savings and Loan Associations especially involving young women returned from trafficking and affected by child marriage. It combines this with awareness raising about child marriage and child trafficking among community members.
