Ana Cecília Nascimento Cuentro is an anti-racist feminist from Recife, PE, Brazil. She has a PhD in gender and care studies from the Graduate Programme in Sociology at the Federal University of Paraíba (BRA), specialising in women’s rights, violence and care policies.
Cecília is a social scientist, researcher and project manager with over 10 years’ experience working in partnership with organisations such as the Elas Fund and the Open Society. She co-founded the Observatório Feminista do Nordeste, an organisation dedicated to the study of human rights and the political participation of women and black and LGBT people.
Cecília has extensive experience in group work, conflict mediation and sustainable practices that strengthen the institutional development of organisations. She is a member of the Freedom Fund’s DEI Committee, where she develops reflections and strengthens institutional practices and training aimed at diversity, equity and inclusion.
