Khaleda Akhter joined the Freedom Fund in May 2021 as a Program Advisor in Bangladesh to set up a new hotspot working to combat the commercial sexual exploitation of children.
Immediately prior to joining the Freedom Fund, Khaleda worked for Save the Children International in Bangladesh as a Senior Manager under the Child Protection Sector where she led three projects specially focused on rescuing trafficked girls below 18 years old from the brothels in Dhaka. Advocacy with the different ministries, partnerships with different NGOs and provided technical support to them were also the major focuses of her work.
