Roosa Sibarani

Program Manager, Indonesia

Roosa Sibarani joined the Freedom Fund in 2022 as the Program Manager for Indonesia, supporting frontline partners to design and deliver quality programs, measure impact, and support research and capacity building. Previously, Roosa worked with an Indonesian NGO supporting coastal communities and ocean conservation and she coordinated Plan International programs addressing forced labour among Indonesian fishers and the commercial sexual exploitation of children in Indonesia.

Roosa is passionate about child protection and combating child labor and the commercial sexual exploitation of children and has focused on these issues for more than 20 years. She also focuses on issues of human rights at sea, particularly in the wild catch fishery sector for the last five years.

In addition to Roosa’s experience working with the grass roots, CSOs, INGOs and networking with government multi stakeholders, she is also a part-time Director of Corporate Social Responsibility Development Program of a gold mining company based in Papua province, Indonesia. As part of her commitment to share knowledge and experience as a practitioner into education institutions, she has regularly lectured on sociology of criminology for master students at North Sumatera-based university.

Roosa holds a master’s degree in International Humanitarian Development and a master’s degree in Criminology.
