Sara Oliveira joined the Freedom Fund in January 2025 as a Program Advisor for the Amazon hotspot. She has over 20 years of experience in managing social programs, education, and human rights initiatives, working with national and international organizations committed to promoting social justice, gender equity, and community empowerment in vulnerable contexts.
Before joining the Freedom Fund, Sara worked with World Vision, ChildFund, Plan International, and the Public Prosecutor’s Office of the State of Bahia, Brazil leading initiatives in advocacy, social protection, violence prevention, and socio-environmental sustainability.
Sara holds a degree in education from the State University of Bahia and postgraduate specializations in institutional and clinical psychopedagogy and environmental policy management, as well as complementary training in economics and environment, sustainability practices, and project management.
