Simy Corrêa joined the Freedom Fund in January 2025 as a Program Advisor for the Amazon. Simy is a black and Amazonian woman and popular educator. She is engaged in anti-racist, anti-colonial, and feminist struggles and processes, with multidisciplinary training and experience.
Simy has 20 years of experience working in formal and informal higher education, with nonprofit civil society organisations, legislative and judicial bodies, and in technical advisory and consulting roles.
Simy holds a degree in law and geography, a postgraduate degree in environmental expertise, a master’s degree in sustainable development, and a PhD in environmental law.
