Sophie Hicks joined the Freedom Fund as Program Assistant in February 2018. In her current role as Program Manager she has worked on programs in Southern India, Ethiopia and Kenya, and is currently working to optimise and digitise the Freedom Fund’s contract management processes.
Before joining the Freedom Fund, Sophie worked in Gulu, Uganda for NGO African Revival, where she was responsible for communications and program development. Prior to that she was based in Togo, where she worked for grassroots NGO SADIL-TOGO as Communications Manager. Her areas of focus include grant management, process optimisation, systems design and organisational change.
Sophie holds a MSc with distinction in violence, conflict and development from the School of Oriental and African Studies, and a BA in Philosophy from Durham University.
