Sumona Choudhury joined the Freedom Fund in November 2023 as a Program Advisor for the Bangladesh hotspot.
Before joining the Freedom Fund, Sumona worked as a Child Protection Specialist at Plan International Bangladesh, where she led efforts to strengthen government child protection systems, enhance institutional accountability, and support national initiatives to combat child marriage in Bangladesh. She also worked with Save the Children International, Save the Children Australia, and Bangladesh Scouts, working closely with government ministries, development partners, and civil society organizations to influence child protection policies, strengthen systems, and promote sustainable change.
Sumona is a certified Country Trainer to build the capacity of the development professionals for implementing a violence-free parenting program named ‘Positive Discipline in Everyday Parenting’ by the University of Manitoba, Canada.
