Kehinde Ojo joined the Freedom Fund in July 2023 as a research assistant, across various projects and hotspots. In April 2024, Kehinde started a new role as Program Officer, working within the Movement Building portfolio. Kehinde is passionate about amplifying survivor voices and ensuring that lived experience is incorporated in the anti-slavery sector.
Kehinde is part of Survivor Alliance advisory board where she actively contributes to ongoing research and has been involved in the charity sector through various pursuits.
Kehinde is particularly interested in advocating for better access to education for survivors. She supports individuals with information and support needed to access education. Kehinde also mentors children and young adults, a role she has held for over 15 years. This work has led to her supporting children with additional educational needs through private tutoring. Here primary reason for supporting her community with extra tuition is to bridge the gap in the sciences and make it more engaging and less scary, especially with the inconsistency in science personnels in secondary schools across the UK.
Kehinde graduated with a first class honours degree in biomedical science at Royal Holloway, University of London. Following graduation, Kehinde worked as a laboratory technician.
