Sachin Kumar joined the Freedom Fund in 2018, initially managing the Northern India Hot Spot. In this role, he provided strategic direction, technical inputs, and fostered effective collaboration among partners and various stakeholders. He established program and grant-making structures and systems, ensuring quality implementation and effective grant management. His efforts were instrumental in bringing transformative changes through survivor engagement and policy reforms, significantly improving the lives of the most marginalized and vulnerable communities.
In 2022, Sachin transitioned to the Grassroots Capacity Enhancement Team, where he now leads various portfolios and provides technical support to hotspots worldwide. His areas of focus include organizational development, fundraising initiatives, survivor engagement, global advocacy, representation, and the Elevate Grant.
Sachin possesses expertise in program management, strategy building, sustainability planning, budgeting, impact assessment, commissioning standards, organizational development, and government liaison. Prior to joining the Freedom Fund, he worked in various capacities with national and international organizations, including BAIF, Care, Catholic Relief Services, and Geneva Global Inc. In these roles, he established and managed projects and country programs focused on community-based development, education, child protection, human trafficking, advocacy, human rights, and sustainable livelihoods.
Sachin holds a master’s degree in rural development from the Xavier Institute of Social Services. He has completed certificate courses on child rights and leadership from prestigious international universities, including the University of California, Berkeley, Haas School of Business, the University of Geneva, and the University of Chicago, where he was a Fellow in the ALS program in 2022.
