We’re happy to share the news that Suparna Gupta, the founder of one of our partner organisations (Aangan) in India, has been awarded a Women of Worth award for excellence in social work.
In our northern India hotspot, Aangan works against child trafficking, hazardous work and early marriage. By supporting parents and adolescent groups to engage the whole community, Aangan strengthens India’s child protection system in targeted neighbourhoods where children are especially at risk.
The award is given by NDTV, a major Indian TV network, and L’Oréal Paris, who launched “Women of Worth” as “a campaign to scout, recognise and award achievements of brave and driven Indian women who have committed themselves to distinguish their own lives by making a difference in the lives of others. This campaign seeks to recognise their inspirational and impactful work.”
