Vision and mission
We identify and invest in the most effective interventions to stop modern slavery where it is most prevalent.
Vision
Our vision is a world free of slavery.
Mission
Our mission is to mobilise the knowledge, capital and will needed to end slavery.
Our role
The Freedom Fund, working with more than 120 grassroots partners, has already transformed 1.6 million lives directly and benefited millions more through wider policy changes and shifts in societal norms.
Today, we see the Freedom Fund’s role as threefold: identifying and scaling effective community-based interventions; fostering a stronger and more inclusive anti-slavery movement; and ensuring that powerholders – including governments and businesses – fulfil their responsibilities to combat exploitation.
Values
Looking ahead
In the coming years, we will multiply our efforts to bring an end to modern slavery by delivering the change that is needed to truly break cycles of exploitation once and for all.
By the end of 2025 we will:
- Transform the lives of 10 million people in the communities most impacted by modern slavery by continuing to identify, invest in and scale effective frontline efforts in the sectors and geographies where extreme exploitation is most prevalent.
- Centre lived experience to build a more inclusive anti-slavery movement by providing grants to at least 100 survivor-led organisations through our Survivor Leadership Fund and supporting at least 500 frontline leaders to participate in our Freedom Rising program.
- Amplify frontline efforts and help address wider systemic inequality and abuse by becoming a leading voice and funder on issues of corporate accountability for labour exploitation.
